Become a Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Hope House! Before you can begin volunteering we ask that you please complete the new volunteer process. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!

  1. Please fill out the application that is located here and email it to Michelle Harp, Volunteer Coordinator at
  2. Come by and take a tour of Hope House. We like for all our potential volunteers to come by and meet our children and see our facility.
  3. Complete a fingerprint/background check. All volunteers must pass a background check in order to spend time with our children. The background check is provided at no cost to you by the Department of Human Services and can be scheduled with a provider near you. Background check instructions can be found here.

**If you are not a Tennessee resident or if you have lived in another state in the last 5 years then you will need to contact Michelle Harp at for additional background check instructions.

*Please note that background check results will take 7-14 days to return.

Please contact Michelle Harp, Volunteer Coordinator, with any questions regarding volunteering at Hope House.
